By Weight vs By Volume
Measuring by weight (grams) is more accurate than measuring by volume (cups and spoons), because the same volume of a food can vary a lot in mass depending on how it is packed — a "scoop" of protein powder is the classic offender. For anyone tracking protein precisely, weighing removes that error, which is the practical case for a scale over a measuring cup. We flag it because it changes the numbers: a heaping versus level scoop can swing a serving's protein and the dollars-per-20g math meaningfully.
