Iron
Iron appears in some meal shakes and multivitamins, in varying forms and doses. The one fact worth stating clearly: with iron, more is not automatically better — the body has no easy way to excrete excess, and unneeded supplemental iron is not benign — so this is a nutrient where a clinician-guided reason to supplement matters. We report what a product contains and its form; we do not suggest anyone add iron. Read the label, and take iron decisions to a clinician, ideally with bloodwork.
