Vitamin D
Vitamin D is frequently added to meal shakes and multivitamins and listed in IU or micrograms per serving. It is one of the more commonly supplemented micronutrients, and doses across products vary widely. Our coverage is factual: we report the amount and any third-party testing, and compare coverage across products on the %DV figure. Individual vitamin D needs depend on factors a label cannot see, so whether and how much to supplement is a clinician question — often one answered with a blood test.
